Dena'ina Civic & Convention Center
Venture Development Group teamed with another local developer to design, build and finance the new Anchorage Civic and Convention Center. Anchorage has outgrown its current facility and this new design will provide ample space for conventions, civic events, trade shows, business events, seminars and special events.
Its design allows natural light to flow into the ballroom, lobbies and pre-function spaces. The center is designed to provide a signature experience unique to Anchorage, with striking, yet functional and comfortable interiors.
The project required land assembage and several public presentations to garner community support including voter approval of a bed tax increase.
